MISS UTILITY 150: SEPTEMBER 15, 2007 RAMSEY TAKES THIRD STRAIGHT WINSOUTH
BOSTON…..Wayne Ramsey continued his recent hot streak at South Boston
Speedway Saturday night, edging veteran driver Eddie Johnson of
Midlothian, Va. to win the 150-lap race for the Barkhouser Late Model
Stock Car Division that highlighted the Miss Utility 150 racing program.
Ramsey, from Amherst, Va. edged Johnson by 1. 824 second to score
his third win in a row and his fourth victory of the season here at South
Boston Speedway.
Jason Dickerson of Ruckersville, Va. finished third, diving under
division points leader and 10-time winner Adam barker of Hurt, Va. to take
the position two laps from the end. Jonathan Bailey of Keysville, Va.
rounded out the top five finishers. C.
E. Falk, III of Virginia Beach, Va., Owen Miller of Emporia, Va., Joey
Coulter of Miami Springs, Fla., former track champion Wayne Patterson of
Chesterfield, Va. and South Boston, Va. driver Bruce Anderson rounded out
the top ten finishers.
Only the top six drivers finished on the lead lap.
The win by Ramsey and the fourth-place finish by Barker allowed
Ramsey to unofficially trim six points off the 52-point lead Barker held
entering the race. As a result, Barker is now in a position of having to
await the end of the season’s final points race on Saturday night,
September 22 to lock up his first career NASCAR Late Model Stock Car
Division track championship. Ramsey
started on the pole and led the entire race. He built a comfortable lead
on Barker, the outside pole starter, only to have it erased by the
race’s only caution, which came out on lap 65. Johnson,
who started seventh, worked his way up top fourth place in the first 75
laps and made his move around Barker to take second place on lap 124.
Dickerson, who had managed to keep his Ford within hailing distance, got
past Barker to take over third place with two laps to go, leaving Barker
to finish fourth.
Ramsey averaged 83.255 mph in the race, which took 43 minutes and
37 seconds to complete. Peregoy
Wins Limited Sportsman Race Tommy
Peregoy of Red Oak, Va. started on the pole and led all the way in winning
the 50-lap Limited Sportsman Division race.
The win was the first of the season for Peregoy who picked up his
second pole win of the season.
Danny Willis Jr. of Cluster Springs, Va. started fourth but rallied
to finish second, .288-second behind Peregoy. Division points leader,
Bruce Anderson of South Boston, Va., a 12-time winner here this season,
finished third and unofficially locked up the division championship. Brian

rounded out the top five finishers. Other
