  • Highway 501 North to South Boston, VA

  • Highway 58 East (right turn)

  • Highway 58 East to first traffic light (1/2 mile)

  • Turn left at light on Highway 360 East

  • Proceed 2.5 Miles -- Speedway Entrance on right

  • Highway 220 to Martinsville, VA

  • Highway 58 East to South Boston, VA (approx. 60 mins.)

  • Highway 360 East to Richmond (Left Turn)

  • Proceed 2.5 Miles -- Speedway Entrance on right

  • Highway 360 West to South Boston, VA

  • One mile east of South Boston -- Speedway Entrance on left

From Greensboro, NC:

  • Highway 29 North to Danville, VA

Nick Igdalsky

CEO, South Boston Speedway & Pocono Raceway

 

Nick Igdalsky serves as the chief executive officer at both South Boston Speedway and Pocono Raceway. Nick now resides with his family in the Pocono Mountains but is no stranger to South Boston. He spent many years as a competitor and employee at the track. He has also been a competitor in ARCA, IMSA and other stock car series. He also manages numerous other business ventures away from the racetracks. He is married to his wife,

Brandy, and they have two kids together.

Chase Brashears

General Manager

Chase took over as general manager at South Boston Speedway at the end of 2021 after serving the full season as incoming GM. A native of Whitesburg, KY, he has been around racing his entire life. His parents took him to races throughout his childhood, he began racing at Lonesome Pine Raceway (Coeburn, VA) at 15 and a couple of years later took over the event management / scoring / marketing there and at nearby Kingsport Speedway (TN). He also worked at Bristol Motor Speedway, spent two years working in NASCAR's weekly/touring series and most recently served as a race director in NASCAR's touring and national series. He is a graduate of East Tennessee State University. He is married to his wife, Carly, and the two of them have a Goldendoodle.

Carly Brashears

Sr. Director,  Marketing & Administration

Carly oversees all aspects of marketing, sales and guest services at South Boston Speedway. She is from Kingsport, TN (just a short drive from famous Bristol Motor Speedway) and has a deep racing background -- growing up attending races and working in the racing industry. ​She has worked in marketing and administration at Kingsport Speedway, Lonesome Pine Raceway and New Smyrna Speedway. She also worked for The NASCAR Foundation and spent time in the marketing department at NASCAR where she worked with racetracks on promoting their events. She is a graduate of East Tennessee State University . She is married to her husband, Chase (yes, the one mentioned above) -- the two of them have a Goldendoodle named Doodle.

Jeff Bomar

Director, Operations & Competition

 

Jeff is a familiar face at South Boston Speedway. He is a native of South Boston and wears multiple hats at the facility -- he keeps the track ready to go for the next event, and serves as the competition director, overseeing all aspects of officiating and technical inspections over the races. He's also a familiar face at other area tracks where you can find him from time to time on race days when South Boston isn't in action. A proud American, he is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He is married his to wife Fawn and has three children.

Joe Chandler

Director, Public Relations & Track Photographer

Joe has worked around South Boston Speedway for many years. A native of South Boston, VA, he had a great 43-year career at the Gazette-Virginian newspaper, the last 21 years of which he was the newspaper’s sports editor. He won 50 Virginia Press Association awards during his career across writing and photography platforms including two VPA Best In Show Awards in photography among non-daily publications. When he retired from the newspaper at the end of 2019 and was looking for a part-time gig, he knew where he wanted to go – South Boston Speedway, his home track. At the speedway Joe handles the speedway’s public relations needs and serves as track photographer. He serves as a councilman for the Town of South Boston Town Council and is married to wife Martha; they have one daughter.

Jim Giese

Coordinator, Operations

Jim is one of the newer team members at South Boston Speedway. A native of New York, he moved to the South Boston area with his wife, Wendy, after living in Florida for many years. He works daily to make sure that the speedway is manicured and in top shape for its events. He has five children and in his spare time enjoys working on classic cars.

Cathy Rice

Consultant

Cathy is a native of South Boston served at the speedway's general manager  for over two decades. Her time at the speedway dates back to the 1970s. She grew up coming to the racetrack as a kid and later married her husband, Allen, who worked on a race team for Jeff Burton and also went on to be a distinguished racecar builder in the area (A&E Racecars). She started at the track doing odd jobs, including scoring and then on the administrative / operations side.  Racing is definitely in the family's blood -- her oldest son is a diehard race fan and her youngest serves as president of NASCAR Xfinity Series team Kaulig Racing.

​

She â€‹semi-retired from the speedway in 2021 but is sticking around to assist with various projects and community relations.
