Bank on great racing action Saturday when South Boston Speedway hosts SunTrust Bank Night
SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — You can bank on some fierce racing competition at South Boston Speedway Saturday night, June 4, when America's Hometown Track hosts SunTrust Bank Night.
The first event of the evening Saturday will get the green flag at 7 p.m.
Highlighting Saturday night's racing action will be the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division competitors. Peyton Sellers and Drew Herring are in a dead heat following last Saturday's race. Sellers still remains a top the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Division 1 standings and has the highest points total in the nation to date. But there is a catch, Sellers must remain on top of the South Boston Speedway track points chase to be eligible for regional and national rankings.
The Limited Sportsman Division will also hit the four-tenths mile asphalt oval for competition Saturday night as will the drivers in the Virginia Army National Guard Pure Stock Division.
Rounding out racing action Saturday night will be events for the touring Virginia-Carolina Ford Focus Midget Series and the Southern Vintage Modifieds.
Pit gates will open Saturday at 1 p.m. and practice for all divisions will be held from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 5 p.m. and qualifying time trials will get the green flag at 5 p.m. as well.
Adult admission for the race will be $8 up to 6:30 p.m. and $10 after that. Youth, ages 10-15, will be admitted for $5 and children under the age of 10 will be admitted free with a paid adult.
