Spaulding Equipment presents Saturday Night Fever slated July 16 at South Boston Speedway
SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — Bell bottom pants, leisure suits and platform shoes.
Those and many other reminders of the 70's era will be seen on July 16 when South Boston Speedway hosts the Spaulding Equipment presents Saturday Night Fever race program.
Persons attending the five-event, NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series race program are encouraged to don their favorite outfit of the 70's. The person sporting the most authentic costume of the evening will receive a $100 prize.
The first race of the night on July 16 will receive the green flag at 7 p.m.
Highlighting the program at America's Hometown Track will be a shootout for the competitors in the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division.
The drivers in the Limited Sportsman Division and the Virginia Army National Guard Pure Stock Division will also hit the four-tenths mile asphalt oval for competition. Competitors in each division continue to aim toward their respective divisional track crown.
The touring Allison Legacy Series and INEX Legends Cars will also be on hand as part of the Spaulding Equipment presents Saturday Night Fever program.
Pit gates will open July 16 at 1 p.m. and practice for all divisions will be held from 2:15 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 5 p.m. and qualifying time trials will get the green flag at 5 p.m. as well.
Adult admission for the race will be $8 up to 6:30 p.m. and $10 after that. Youth, ages 10-15, will be admitted for $5 and children under the age of 10 will be admitted free with a paid adult.
