USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series drivers will invade SoBo Saturday, Aug. 6 for running of Lucas Oil 250

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. The stars and cars of the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series will invade the four-tenths mile South Boston Speedway oval Saturday, Aug. 6, for the running of the Lucas Oil 250.

The Lucas Oil 250 is slated to get the green flag at 7 p.m.

In addition to the 250-lap race for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series drivers, a 110-lap race will also be held for the drivers in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division. That race will be run after the conclusion of the Lucas Oil 250 presented by Dollar General.

Among the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series competitors expected to take the green flag for the Lucas Oil 250 will be former South Boston Speedway NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series competitors Woody Howard of Chesapeake, Va., Rodney Cook of Reidsville, N.C. and Richard Landreth of Pine Hall, N.C.

Howard had much success at South Boston Speedway last season in the Late Model Stock Car ranks and hopes to be one of the contenders for a victory Saturday night. Howard has already claimed two Pro Cup wins this season, including last Saturdays win at Salem Speedway in Indiana.

Pit gates for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series competitors will open at 8:30 a.m. and practice for the drivers will get underway at 11 a.m.

The Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division drivers will enter the pit gates at 1 p.m. and, following a practice session, will take to the track for qualifying time trials at 3:30 p.m.

Qualifying for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series drivers will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will be followed by an on-track autograph session at 5:45 p.m.

Adult general admission is $15 if purchased at the speedway prior to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5. Adult general admission price will be $20 Saturday. Youth, ages 10-15, will be admitted for $10 and children under the age of 10 will be admitted free with a paid adult. Reserved seats are available for Saturday's event at a price of $30.
