South Boston Speedway's 2006 racing season will get cranked up in just over two months

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — The 2005 racing season at South Boston Speedway was a banner year. And, the 2006 NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series campaign at America's Hometown Track promises to be action-packed as well.

It may be January, but teams are already getting tuned up for the 2006 racing season. South Boston Speedway's 19-event schedule for 2006 will begin on Saturday, March 25. The season-opening event will feature action for the Late Model Stock Car Division competitors as well as drivers in the Limited Sportsman Division, the Pure Stock Division and the touring Legends Series.

While the drivers in the Late Model Stock Car Division, the Limited Sportsman Division and the Pure Stock Division will highlight the 2006 season, a host of other touring series will also be on hand for various races during the year. In addition to the Legends Series, other touring events planned at the four-tenths mile asphalt oval include races for the Southern Vintage Modifieds, the Legendary Flatheads and the Allison Legacy Series.

The USAR Hooters ProCup Series will, once again, make two visits to South Boston Speedway. In 2006, the USAR Hooters ProCup Series will compete at America's Hometown Track on Saturday, April 1 and Saturday, Aug. 5.

The USAR Hooters ProCup Series won't be the only major touring series to visit the famed four-tenths mile oval in 2006. The NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division Southeast Series will make another appearance at America's Hometown Track on Saturday, May 27.

South Boston Speedway is already selling season tickets for the action-packed events during the upcoming campaign.

Season tickets, good for all events in 2006, are available for the value price of $150 per person. A season ticket pass for youth, ages 10-15, is available for the 2006 season at a cost of $99.

Tailgating spots are, once again, available for the 2006 racing season at South Boston Speedway. Spaces are available for the entire season or on a weekly basis.

The tailgating area will be open for cars and trucks. Grills and unlimited size coolers will be available in the tailgating area. Tailgating passes good for the entire season are priced at $285.
