Stiff competition is expected again this week when South Boston Speedways hosts the Barkhouser 150

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — Three races. Three different winners.

That's what race fans at South Boston Speedway have witnessed through the first three Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division events this season. Will a fourth different winner find his way to Victory Lane Saturday night, April 22? It's possible because South Boston Speedway will return to action Saturday night for the running of the Barkhouser 150.

Highlighting the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series racing event will be a 150-lap race for the drivers in the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division.

Thus far this season, Jon Denning of Springfield, N.J. and Ruckersville, Va. drivers Phillip Morris and Jason Dickerson have collected Late Model Stock Car triumphs at America's Hometown Track.

While those three have been the victors thus far this year, Jonathan Cash of Oxford, N.C., who has tallied two runner-up finishes and one-third place run for the campaign, has vaulted to the early lead in the chase for the division championship at South Boston Speedway.

All of those drivers and many more of the top Late Model Stock Car Division competitors in the region are expected to be on hand Saturday night for the running of the Barkhouser 150.

In addition to the Late Model Stock Car Division race Saturday night, other events slated for competition on the four-tenths mile asphalt oval include races for the Strutmasters.com Limited Sportsman Division, the Budweiser Pure Stock Division and the touring INEX Legends Series.

Pit gates will open Saturday at 1 p.m. and practice for all divisions will be held from 2:15 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 5 p.m. and qualifying time trials will get underway at 5:15 p.m.

Adult admission for the race will be $8 up to 6:30 p.m. and $10 after that. Youth, ages 10-15, will be admitted for $5 and children under the age of 10 will be admitted free with a paid adult.
