Moms will be admitted for discounted price Saturday night at South Boston Speedway
SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — There aren't many racers who are moms. Even so, there aren't many racers who would be where they are without their mothers.
Therefore, on the eve of Mother's Day, South Boston Speedway will honor all moms Saturday night with the running of the Mom's Night Out 150. The NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series racing program will get the green flag at 7 p.m.
"We know how much impact mothers have on our competitors, our fans and our staff," South Boston Speedway General Manager Cathy Rice said. "It is only fitting that we honor all mothers on the night before Mother's Day."
To honor mothers, South Boston Speedway will admit all moms to Saturday's racing event at America's Hometown Track for the discounted price of $5.
Highlighting the Mom's Night Out 150 will be a 150-lap race for the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division competitors. In addition, Strutmasters.com Limited Sportsman Division drivers will hit the four-tenths mile asphalt oval for twin races.
Other events slated as part of the Mom's Night 150 include races for the Budweiser Pure Stock Division and the touring Legendary Flathead Series.
Pit gates will open Saturday at 1 p.m. and practice for all divisions will be held from 2:15 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 5 p.m. and qualifying time trials will get underway at 5:15 p.m.
Adult admission for the race will be $8 up to 6:30 p.m. and $10 after that. Youth, ages 10-15, will be admitted for $5 and children under the age of 10 will be admitted free with a paid adult.
