USG 150 Set Saturday At South Boston Speedway

SOUTH BOSTON, VA.- .NASCAR racing action returns to South Boston Speedway Saturday night with the track hosting the USG 150 Presented By Spaulding Equipment Company.

Saturday nights event, the third of three-back-to-back weekends of racing at South Boston Speedway, gets the green flag at 7 p.m.

A five-race card is on tap at South Boston Speedway Saturday night with the action being highlighted by a 150-lap race for the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division.

Races for the Limited Sportsman Division and the Budweiser Pure Stock Division along with races for the Southern Vintage Modifieds and the INEX Legends Cars will round out Saturday nights racing action.

Wayne Ramsey of Amherst, Va. will take a six-point leader over two-time winner Adam Barker of Hurt, Va. into Saturday nights 150-lap race for the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division.

Eddie Johnson of Midlothian, Va.is in third place in the points standings and trails Ramsey by 18 points. C.E. Falk of Virginia Beach, Va. stands 34 points out of the lead in fourth place and Jon Denning of Springfield, N.J. rounds out the top five in the division points standings.

Bruce Anderson of South Boston, Va. still holds the top spot in the Limited Sportsman Division points chase. Danny Willis Jr. of Cluster Springs, Va. who scored his first win of the season last Saturday night, is in second place in the points standings and trails Anderson by 24 points. Terri Marks of Capron, Va., who drives the Halifax County Motorsports Academy entry is in third place in the standings,

Defending Budweiser Pure Stock Division champion Chuck Watkins of Stem, N.C. continues to lead that divisions points chase.Watkins, who has won two of the divisions three races, leads Chris Seay of Ringgold, Va. and William Ridgeway of Burlington, N.C., who are tied for second place, by 14 points entering this weekends event.

Rodney Cook of Reidsville, N.C. holds an eight-point lead entering this weekends action for the Southern Vintage Modifieds Racing Association.

Grandstand gates open at 5 p.m., qualifying time trials start at 5:15 p.m. and the first race gets the green flag at 7 p.m.

Adult general admission is $8 until 6:30 p.m. and $10 after that. Youths ages 10-15 are admitted for $5. Kids ages 9 & under are admitted free with a paid adult.
