Tickets still available for South Boston Speedway's Annual Awards Ceremony on Jan. 17
SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — Prices on many things have soared over the past year, however, the price of attending the annual South Boston Speedway Awards Ceremony has remained steady since, at least, 2005.
America's Hometown Track will honor its 2008 racing champions on Saturday, Jan. 17, at The Prizery in South Boston. Tickets for the event are, once again, priced at $30 each and can be obtained at the speedway office or by phoning a track official at 1-877-440-1540. Due to a limited amount of seating remaining, persons wishing to attend the ceremony who have not yet purchased tickets are asked to do so as soon as possible.
The highly anticipated evening begins with a social hour at 6 p.m. and will be followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m. A Champion's Reception will be held at the conclusion of the awards ceremony.
Wayne Ramsey will highlight the list of honorees on Jan. 17. Ramsey claimed the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division championship this season at the four-tenths mile asphalt oval, edging Justin Johnson in the final points tally.
In the Limited Sportsman Division, Lee Pulliam survived a season-long battle with two-time defending champion Bruce Anderson to emerge as the division champion. Pulliam edged out Anderson by a mere seven points in the final tally.
Joe Allred claimed the Budweiser Pure Stock Division championship, topping Courtney Crosby by eight points, while Darryl Lacks secured the Yellow Book USA Southern Vintage Modified championship by 11 points over Randy Smith.
