Region's best Late Model Stock Car drivers will be on hand for SoBo's Bailey's 200 on Friday, July 3
SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — A field of some of the best Late Model Stock Car Division competitors will have their sights set on a $5,000 first-place check on Friday, July 3, when South Boston Speedway hosts the Bailey's 200.
The Late Model Stock Car Division race will be the featured attraction of an action-packed night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action. The first race of the night will get underway at 7 p.m.
In addition to the 200-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Late Model Stock Car Division race, the Limited Sportsman Division drivers will hit the four-tenths mile asphalt oval at America's Hometown Track for 100 laps. A 50-lap shootout will also be staged for the competitors in the Budweiser Pure Stock Division.
Prior to racing action on Friday, July 3, fans will be able to go trackside to meet and greet their favorite competitors during Fan Appreciation from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
At the close of racing action on July 3, South Boston Speedway will stage its annual Fireworks Extravaganza in celebration of the July 4 holiday. The fireworks show is always one of the most impressive in the region.
Practice for all divisions will be held on July 3 from 2:15 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. and qualifying time trials will get cranked up at 4:30 p.m.
Advance tickets for adults are available at a cost of $15. Discount tickets will be available through 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 2. Adult admission on the day of the race will be $20. Children, ages 7-12, will be admitted for $10 and children, ages six and under, will be admitted free. Youth discounts are only valid if accompanied by a paying adult.
