Area's best Limited Sportsman Division drivers expected to compete in 100-lap race on Oct. 31
SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — Brian Pembelton, Danny Willis Jr., Justin Snow, Tommy Peregoy and Brandon Gdovic all visited Victory Lane during Limited Sportsman Division racing action this season at South Boston Speedway and each will likely make one final bid to score a win at America's Hometown Track in 2009.
The area's best Limited Sportsman Division drivers will converge on the four-tenths mile asphalt oval on Saturday, Oct. 31, to compete in a 100-lap race.
The 100-lap race for the Limited Sportsman Division will be run in conjunction with the USARacing Pro Cup Series, formerly known Hooters Pro Cup Series, championship event slated for Saturday, Oct. 31. The 250-lap race will help decide the 2009 USARacing Pro Cup Series champion.
Pembelton claimed the 2009 Limited Sportsman Division championship this year after reeling off five victories. Willis, who finished second in the championship chase, netted four victories during the season as did Snow, who wound up sixth in the final standings.
Peregoy rolled to three wins in 2009 and claimed third place in the championship standings, while Gdovic, the fifth-place finisher in the standings, tallied one win during the season.
Rookie driver Jeb Burton, the son of famed NASCAR competitor Ward Burton, did not score a win in 2009; however, consistent runs throughout the season allowed him to finish fourth in the final standings.
All of those drivers and many more of the area's best Limited Sportsman competitors are expected to be on hand for the 100-lap event on Oct. 31.
The complete schedule of events for the two days will be announced in the near future as well as ticket prices for the annual shootout.
