Disqualifications Give Crews PS Win

SOUTH BOSTON, VA - Three drivers in the Pure Stock Division at South Boston Speedway were disqualified after post-race inspections of their cars following the 30-lap Pure Stock Division race that was part of the May 26 Halifax County “Powers” Business Late Model Twin 75s racing program.

As a result of the disqualifications, Trey Crews of Halifax, Va. was awarded the race win, giving him his first win of the season.
Nathan Crews of Long Island, Va. was the apparent race winner, taking the checkered flag with Trey Crews in the runner-up spot.

Following a post-race inspection, NASCAR track officials determined that the cars driven by Nathan Crews, Joe Allred III of Scottsburg, Va. and Stuart Crews of Long Island, Va. did not meet division specifications. As a result, the three drivers were disqualified.

Allred was in third place when the checkered flag fell, and Stuart Crews was in fifth place at the end of the race.

With the disqualifications, Trey Crews picked up the win, Randy Hupp of Halifax, Va. was awarded second place, and Jake Brown of Cluster Springs, Va. moved up in the standings to become the official third-place finisher.

Brandon Bomar of South Boston, Va. and Libby Privette of Nathalie, Va. rounded out the top five in the revised finishing order.
