South Boston Speedway’s season tickets, gift certificates score landslide victory

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — Election Day has passed. The votes have been tabulated, and the clear winner for excitement in 2013 is racing action at South Boston Speedway.

Officials at America’s Hometown Track recently released the action-packed schedule for 2013 and announced that season tickets for all 18 events can be purchased for only $150.

In addition to season tickets being on sale, South Boston Speedway is also offering gift certificates in price increments. The gift certificates would make ideal stocking stuffers for the holiday season.

The 2013 season at America’s Hometown Track will get cranked up on Saturday, March 9, with the running of the Danville Toyota NASCAR Whelen Late Model Twin 100’s racing program.

The season-opening event will also feature action for the Limited Sportsman Division and the Pure Stock Division. The first three NASCAR Whelen All American Series events of the 2013 campaign will feature afternoon starts.

In addition to NASCAR Whelen All American Series events for the Late Model Stock Car Division, Limited Sportsman Division and Pure Stock Division, a host of special events are planned at the historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval in 2013.

South Boston Speedway will host the touring PASS Super Late Model Series for three events in 2013. Those events are scheduled on May 11, June 8, and Aug. 17. All three of those events will also feature twin races for the competitors in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.

The annual 200-lap NASCAR Whelen Late Model Stock Car race and the annual Fireworks Extravaganza will be held on July 3. That event will also feature a 100-lap race for the Limited Sportsman Division and a 50-lap race for the Pure Stock Division.

The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour will visit the historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval on Saturday, April 13. That event will also feature twin races for the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.

South Boston Speedway officials also announced plans to have a return visit of the popular Monster Truck Show in 2013. That event, which will feature fireworks, is slated for Sept. 21. It is included on the schedule in addition to the 17 racing events next year.
