Track titles on the line Saturday, Sept. 14 when SoBo hosts the GCR presents Spaulding Equipment NASCAR Championship Night 150

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — Believe it or not, the 2013 racing season at South Boston Speedway is winding to a close.

The division champions at America’s Hometown Track will be crowned on Saturday, Sept. 14, when South Boston Speedway hosts the GCR presents Spaulding Equipment NASCAR Championship Night 150 racing program. The first of five events scheduled on Sept. 14 will get underway at 7 p.m.

Highlighting the night of racing will be a 150-lap race for the drivers in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division. Also scheduled on Sept. 14 is a race for the Limited Sportsman Division, a clash for the drivers in the Budweiser Pure Stock Division, a battle for the Modified Division and an event for the competitors in the touring Legendary Flathead Ford Racing Association.

Defending NASCAR Whelen All American Series national champion Lee Pulliam, the frontrunner for the 2013 national crown, has already locked up the 2013 NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division championship at South Boston Speedway. Pulliam has reeled off an impressive 15 victories at America’s Hometown Track this season.

Danny Willis Jr. will be trying to secure the Limited Sportsman Division championship on Sept. 14, and Joe Allred will attempt to remain atop the Budweiser Pure Stock Division standings in the final week of the campaign.

Pit registration for the GCR presents Spaulding Equipment NASCAR Championship Night 150 racing program will begin at 1 p.m. on Sept. 14. Practice for all divisions will be held from 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and qualifying time trials will get underway at 5:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 5 p.m. and admission will be $10 for adults and children six and under will be admitted free with a paid adult.
