SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — It’s time to hear the roar of the engines and cheers from the crowd at America’s Hometown Track.
South Boston Speedway will open the highly-anticipated 2014 season Saturday afternoon with the running of the Danville Toyota NASCAR Whelen Late Model Twin 100 racing program.
The first event of the season will have a special afternoon starting time of 2 p.m. and will be highlighted by a pair of action-packed battles for the drivers in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.
South Boston Speedway annually attracts the region’s best NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car drivers and a host of them are expected to invade the historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval this weekend for the racing action.
Also featured as part of Saturday’s season-opening event will be races for the Limited Sportsman Division and the Budweiser Pure Stock Division.
“A lot of plans and preparations have been made for the 2014 season and we are certain it will be another great year,” South Boston Speedway General Manager Cathy Rice said.
