South Boston Speedway Office Remains Closed Under Virginia Governor’s Order

South Boston, Va….Complying with a state-wide “stay-at-home” executive order issued Monday by Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, South Boston Speedway’s offices will remain closed until June 10 or such time as the governor’s order is rescinded or repealed.

“We want our competitors and fans to know that our staff is working from home and handling communications and as many tasks as possible,” said South Boston Speedway General Manager Cathy Rice.

“We are doing what we need to do to comply with Governor Northam’s order. We are staying in touch with NASCAR and will be working with NASCAR officials as we make necessary changes to our 2020 schedule. We are doing everything we can to be ready for racing when the time comes. We will make subsequent announcements on our website and social media platforms as circumstances warrant.

“We urge everyone to follow the orders and guidelines issued by federal, state and local officials regarding staying at home and social distancing to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus,” Rice added.

“Our hope is that everyone will follow the guidelines, and in doing that, the spread of the virus can be stopped to the greatest extent possible.”
