Our emphasis is to make South Boston Speedway a friendly, and safe place for media covering our events to work. Information regarding media credentials, media procedures and other media-related matters designed to assist you is listed below.​ If you're interested in covering races at South Boston Speedway, please fill out the Media Credential Application below
to be considered for credentials to all of our races.

GENERAL MEDIA INFORMATION

South Boston Speedway 2026 Season Credential List – If you plan to staff/cover our events on a regular basis this season, please send an e-mail to joe@southbostonspeedway.com. Please include the name or names of the person or persons staffing the events, their duty (writer, photographer, video, etc.), e-mail address, publication/media outlet name and phone number, as well as any related social media channels so that we can include them on our 2026 Season Credential List.

Regular NASCAR Local Racing Series Events – Media members may arrive, sign in and receive media credentials on race day without prior notice. An advance credential request is not required for regular NASCAR Local Racing Series powered by O'Reilly Auto Parts (formerly named the NASCAR Weekly Series) events.

Sign-In – Media members may sign in at either the Will Call window at the main ticket office at the front of the speedway or at the Competitor Registration building located on the backstretch side of the speedway near the track’s pit entrance. If you arrive before our will call window opens please go to guest services. Please take note of specific event Will Call and Registration hours.

Proof of Identity – Media members MUST show their media/press identification and/or other commonly recognized form of identification such as a driver’s license when they sign in for media credentials. Media personnel are asked to display their media/press ID and are REQUIRED to display the credential/wristband issued by the speedway at all times during the event.

Parking – Media members may park in the area in front of the speedway or in the competitor parking area located behind the competitor registration building adjacent to the infield entrance at Turn 2.

The Bill Dyer Press Box – located atop the main frontstretch grandstand is available to writers and photographers. Media personnel working on deadline are given first priority for seating. Remaining seating is available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Media Lockers – Lockers are located in the Press Box for use by media personnel. Media personnel must bring their own lock if they wish to secure an item(s) in a locker. All items are required to be removed from lockers following the event. Lockers are expected to be clean and trash-free following the event.

Follow the Rules – All media personnel are REQUIRED to follow directives from track management, the speedway’s public relations director, track NASCAR officials and track services and safety personnel. Failure to comply could result in the media credential or wristband issued to the individual for the event being revoked and the individual being ejected from the pit/infield area.
CREDENTIAL PICKUP
For NASCAR Local Racing Series events, Media members may sign in at either the Will Call window at the Main Ticket Office at the front of the speedway or at the Competitor Registration building located on the backstretch side of the speedway near the track’s Pit Entrance. If you arrive before our Will Call window opens please go to Guest Services located directly inside the front gate underneath the Main Grandstand.
* Please take note of event-specific sign-in locations and credential hours. For March 21, June 27 and October 17 events, sign-in will only be located at the Will Call window at the front ticket booth.
