SOUTH BOSTON, VA (October 8, 2026) – Kaden Honeycutt has been on a tear at South Boston Speedway.

He’s won the last three races he has entered at SoBo – the 2026 Thunder Road Harley Davidson 200, the Krush 250 last November and the 2025 zMAX CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour feature.

His success begs the question – can anyone beat Honeycutt at South Boston Speedway?

Heading into the zMAX CARS Tour AutosByNelson.com Championship Night event on Saturday, October 17, it’s one that competitors and fans alike will be anxious to see answered.

Honeycutt looks to keep a couple of streaks alive when he pays South Boston his next visit. Not only is he seeking his fourth victory in a row at the speedway, he’s attempting to sweep the evening.

In front of him are the 100-lap CARS Pro Late Model Tour race and the 125-lap CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour – the Tour’s finale two features of 2026. If Honeycutt can pull off the sweep, it will mark his third time this season he’s done it with the CARS Tour.

Honeycutt will strap into a couple familiar machines – the same two he’s accomplished both his CARS Tour sweeps in previously this year. He’ll pilot the No. 54 JC Motorsports Pro Late Model entry co-owned by Jimmy and Jamie Cox and the No. 17 Tom Usry Racing Late Model Stock Car entry owned by Kenneth Packer.

In order for Honeycutt to pull of another sweep, it begins with the Pro Late Model feature.

“Hopefully we can make it a good race, and somehow, if we’re fortunate enough to make it four wins in a row at SoBo, that would be really awesome,” remarked Honeycutt. “I want to keep the South Boston winning streak alive. I think we’ll have a really good chance at it.”

And if he were to win that first feature?

“It would definitely be cool to pull off the sweep at SoBo,” Honeycutt said. “This year we’ve done it twice. It’s been really cool, and I think if we can do it a third time that would cap off the Late Model side very, very well.”

For Jamie Cox, whose JC Motorsports Pro Late Model team will be competing at South Boston Speedway for the first time, winning the 100-lap race would be big accomplishment.

“We have never run there before, so to come and win at South Boston in our first time there would be really bad ass,” she said. “No one in CARS Tour history had won the Pro Late Model and Late Model Stock Car races on the same day until the year, and Kaden not only did it once, he’s done it twice. We are looking to make it a third time at South Boston.”

Honeycutt has been solid in his CARS Tour appearances this season. He’s tallied five wins in his seven Pro Late Model starts in the No. 54 JC Motorsports entry.

He has earned two wins in his four Late Model Stock Car starts and both of his Late Model Stock Car wins came at events in which he won the Pro Late Model race the same night.

A good portion of Honeycutt’s success in the Late Model Stock Car ranks has come with Tom Usry Racing. Packer says Honeycutt’s success comes from his work ethic.

“Inside the car is not where he wins his races,” Packer said. “It’s outside the car, the work he does, the time he puts in honing his craft, and when he gets into the car it just comes easy because he’s outworked everybody before he ever gets there.”

That hard work was on full display during Honeycutt’s two CARS Tour sweeps this season. The first came at Ace Speedway on May 9, just one day after he won both the ARCA Menards Series race and his first career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Watkins Glen International.

In the second sweep, Honeycutt showed physical fortitude and stamina, grabbing both CARS Tour wins at North Wilkesboro as temperatures approached triple digits outside.

While Honeycutt eyes big things at South Boston Speedway, there is a much bigger, much more important picture looming for Honeycutt – winning the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship for TRICON Garage.

Honeycutt, the current NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series points leader and a three-time winner in the series this season, will be competing in the series’ race at Phoenix Raceway on Friday, October 16 and flying back to compete at South Boston on Saturday.

“I’ve done this before, when I’ve gone from Phoenix to Caraway Speedway in North Carolina,” Honeycutt said. “I did that three years ago. I showed up to the racetrack at Caraway at 11 a.m. because my flight landed at 9 a.m. I’m hoping we can get back a little quicker than that so I can rest up for a couple of hours and then race in the two races on Saturday.

“I’ll miss all of Friday at South Boston, but we’re planning on testing a couple of days before to get dialed in,” he continued. “I’m going to do what I can to rest, run Phoenix fully prepared and focused on that. Once it’s done, I’m fully prepared and focused on winning the two races at South Boston.”

Honeycutt is looking to get all he can out of the 2026 season. He will become a dad soon and will trim his racing schedule outside of his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series efforts to focus on his family.

“One of the things I want to do right is to be there for them,” he said of his wife, Jessica, and their baby.

“I don’t want to be absent in anything. I just want to run my four or five races that I can and focus on being with Jessica and the baby as much as possible and try not to miss anything.”

Until then, we’ll see if Honeycutt can hit all his marks and maybe come home with some more hardware from SoBo.
