SOUTH BOSTON, VA (February 26, 2026) – South Boston Speedway is partnering with food support organization Feed Halifax to elevate the organization’s efforts to combat hunger in Halifax County, Virginia.

As a part of the partnership, the speedway will devote its event scheduled for May 16 to Feed Halifax’s food relief efforts. The event will be entitled Feed Halifax Driving to End Hunger Race Night and will feature all four of the track’s NASCAR Local Racing Series powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts-sanctioned racing divisions.

Fans attending the May 16 event will be encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the event to be donated to the Feed Halifax organization. Feed Halifax will have a trailer set up to accept both food and monetary donations.

“Race Night has become one of our favorite opportunities to connect our community’s love of racing with our mission to fight hunger right here at home,” noted Ryland Clark, the founder of Feed Halifax. “Every dollar raised translates directly into meals for local families, and the support we receive at South Boston Speedway truly moves the needle. We’re excited to bring the Feed Halifax food trailer back this year and showcase how our community continues to step up for one another.”

South Boston Speedway General Manager Brandon Brown pointed out the speedway’s support of this important initiative.

"Feed Halifax is such an important organization in our community, and we're proud to partner with them to not only bring more awareness to their cause but also help get food directly to those who need it,” Brown said. “We can't wait to see this event come to life and the positive impact that we can make with it.”

More details about how fans can support Feed Halifax’s efforts will be announced soon.

Last season South Boston Speedway and Feed Halifax partnered to collect donations of non-perishable food items during the track’s zMAX CARS Tour event in September. The Feed Halifax organization set up a trailer at the speedway during the event to collect donations.
