Ticket sales brisk, interest high for June 25 SRX race at South Boston

Updated: Feb 8, 2022

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (Feb. 8, 2022) -- The June 25 SRX Series (Superstar Racing Experience) event at South Boston Speedway has drawn a high level of interest among fans, creating a high demand for tickets to the nationally televised event.

Speedway officials note that well over 1,000 tickets have been sold during the one-week period since the announcement was made that South Boston Speedway will host one of the premier SRX racing events. With that in mind, South Boston Speedway officials encourage fans to purchase their tickets as early as possible.

“The level of interest surrounding the June 25 SRX event has been tremendous,” said South Boston Speedway General Manager Chase Brashears. “With all of our grandstand seats being reserved seats for this event we encourage fans to purchase their tickets as early as possible. The earlier fans make their ticket purchase the better the selection of seating choices they will have.”

Speedway officials recommend and encourage fans to purchase their tickets, both reserved seats and general admission, online on the South Boston Speedway website www.southbostonspeedway.com. Persons uncomfortable doing that should call the South Boston Speedway office at 434-572-4947 or toll free at 1-877-440-1540 for assistance in placing orders.

For the SRX event, tickets are priced at $50 each for reserved chairback seats in rows 19-20 in the speedway’s main frontstretch grandstand. Reserved seats in rows 11-18 are $45 each and reserved seats in rows 1-10 are $35 each. All grandstand seating is reserved for this event.

Trackside tailgating and general admission lawn chair area general admission tickets are $35 each.

No child ticket pricing is available for this special event. Everyone attending must purchase a ticket, with the exception of an infant-in-arms that will sit on your lap.

Persons with ADA needs should purchase a General Admission Lawn Chair ticket. ADA areas are accessible in Turns 3 and 4.

Trackside tailgating spaces cannot be purchased for the SRX event. The trackside tailgating spaces are sold on a seasonal basis and all are sold out for the 2022 season.

Speedway officials point out that fans will need to choose their own seats when they purchase tickets. They also note that the easiest way to have tickets delivered is via e-mail. With the e-mail delivery option fans can print their own tickets on standard copy paper or add them to their smartphone device.

“For fans that are unable to do that, we can print and mail their tickets to them in advance for a small shipping fee,” Brashears said.

Fans wishing to use that option should choose “Mail” at the time of checkout.

South Boston Speedway is one of the six premier short tracks in the nation that will be part of this year’s SRX Series and is among four new venues that have been selected to host an event in 2022.

The SRX Series features drivers from a variety of racing backgrounds competing in identically-prepared racecars. Its format is similar to that of the former IROC racing series.

The June 25 SRX event at South Boston Speedway will be one of the biggest events in the speedway’s 65-year-history. It will be televised live nationally at 8 p.m. ET on CBS Television Network and Paramount+.

The latest news and updates from South Boston Speedway can be found on the speedway’s website, www.southbostonspeedway.com, and through the speedway’s social media channels.
