SOUTH BOSTON, VA (November 5, 2025) – There is a huge level of excitement in the air as drivers and teams prepare for the State Water Heaters Krush 250 Presented by Rogers Heating & Cooling on Saturday afternoon, November 8 at South Boston Speedway.
The showcase feature, a fund-raising event for The Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit conservation and outreach organization, carries a $75,000 purse and pays $12,000 to win.
“We’ve got a big entry list, and it’s cool to see all of the great drivers and teams come out,” remarked NASCAR Xfinity Series regular Jeb Burton who will be making his first Late Model Stock Car start in over a year at South Boston Speedway. “I’m really excited. I hope we have a big fan turnout and we raise some funds for the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation. I appreciate Rogers Heating and Cooling and State Water Heaters for putting it on. South Boston Speedway has been a great track to work with for this event. We want to keep growing it.”
The State Water Heaters Krush 250 Presented by Rogers Heating & Cooling will be Burton’s first start at South Boston Speedway since he finished fourth in a race on August 31, 2024. He finished sixth in last year’s Krush 250 when it was held at Orange County Speedway.
Burton tested at South Boston Speedway on Tuesday and feels good about his chances in the race.

“My car is fast,” the Halifax, Virginia resident pointed out. “I feel we have a top-five car. We’ve just got to get it handling like I want it. We’ve got Friday to work on it, and we get to work on it twice during the race. We’ve got to keep fine-tuning on it and see if we can find what it needs.”
Another driver that is very excited about Saturday’s 250-lap race is Kaden Honeycutt. Honeycutt, who is coming off of a third-place finish in the final NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standings, is the defending champion of the event as he won last year’s race at Orange County Speedway. He won this year’s ZMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car race at South Boston Speedway.
The Aledo, Texas native said it would mean a lot to be able to win Saturday’s race.
“We were very fortunate to win that race at Orange County last year and we’re looking forward to defend that title,” said Honeycutt. “I’m very happy this race is at South Boston Speedway. This is the home of R&S Race Cars and that’s what we run at Tom Usry Racing. If we can win it for them, that would be awesome.”
Honeycutt pointed out he likes racing at South Boston Speedway.
“South Boston is an amazing racetrack,” he remarked. “I love running here every time I’ve come.”
Winning the State Water Heaters Krush 250 Presented by Rogers Heating & Cooling will be no easy task.
“Considering who is going to be there, plus the local guys,” it’s going to be hard,” Honeycutt noted. “I need to see how the segments are broken up and make a strategy from there. These Late Model races are not usually like that. It will be interesting how we approach that and see what we need to do to be up front when it matters. I imagine we’re going to have to flip stages and things like that – something I’m used to in the Truck Series.”
Another driver that is looking forward to the State Water Heaters Krush 250 Presented by Rogers Heating & Cooling is veteran racer Andrew Grady. Grady finished a close third in South Boston Speedway’s final points race of the season and had a pair of Top-5 finishes and 5 Top-10 finishes in his six starts at South Boston Speedway.

“I think we’ve got a rocketship,” Grady said during a break in testing on Tuesday afternoon. “I think we will be very competitive, especially with how we ended on Championship Night and being so close to winning. I think we’ve got a really good shot.”
The Knightdale, North Carolina resident pointed out this will be a tough race.
“It’s a long race,” he noted. “They are letting us have some type of strategy, which is always good for us and good for the fans. If you win Saturday, you will have earned it. It’s a great field of cars, great drivers, and I hope I’m in front of all of them.”
